ENGINEER - SAFETY & RISK
As a Safety & Risk Engineer with Sherpa, your Key Objective will be to ensure our clients receive independent, high calibre and cost effective process safety and risk management advice and services as well as contributing to the development of our business.
Your responsibilities will include executing technical process safety and risk assessments; and applying the concept of risk governance, across businesses, programs or projects.
You will be involved in:

Applying risk assessment techniques to clients that operate within high hazard environments

Hazard identification and risk assessment workshops to address all aspects of risk relevant to a business, programs or projects

Undertaking Quantitative Risk Assessments and Formal Safety Assessment Studies

Conducting technical and process safety studies, for example, Risk and Hazard Registers, SIL, QRA and Fire Explosion Risk Assessments, Safety Cases
-
Supporting your colleagues to achieve successful study completion

Contributing and developing innovative risk solutions
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

Hold a Tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering

Have a minimum of 3 years experience in technical risk, process safety and/or assurance roles

Interest in pursuing IChemE process safety accreditation
-
Thinking outside the box’ and continuous improvement initiatives on projects
-
Delivery of a range of Technical Risk and Safety Assessments in the energy, chemical, renewable and/or infrastructure sector with at least 2 years or more related experience

Be able to work as part of a team but also independently with a focus on delivering results
-
Capacity for strategic thinking

A strong desire to grow professionally and keep abreast of industry changes and practice

Have the ability to travel nationally and internationally
-
Eligible to work and live in Australia
