SENIOR ENGINEER / ANALYST
- RISK & SAFETY

As a Senior Engineer with Sherpa, your Key Objective will be to ensure our clients receive independent, high calibre and cost effective process safety and risk management advice and services as well as contributing to the development of our business.

Your responsibilities will include executing and leading technical process safety and reliability risk assessments; applying the concept of risk governance, to embed risk management processes across businesses, programs or projects.

You will be involved in:

  • Applying risk assessment techniques to clients that operate within high hazard environments

  • Preparing and facilitating hazard identification and risk assessment workshops to address all aspects of risk relevant to a business, programs or projects

  • Leading and conducting technical and process safety studies, for example, Risk and Hazard registers, SIL Allocation and Verification, Quantitative Risk Assessments, Fire Explosion Risk Assessments, Formal Safety Assessment, Safety Cases

  • Developing safety arguments and supporting the generation of auditable evidence trails

  • Providing project management oversight

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Hold a Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related Sciences

  • Be involved in or have had experience in technical risk, process safety and/or assurance roles

  • Interest in pursuing IChemE process safety accreditation

  • TUV FS or Exida/CFSP certification highly regarded

  • Delivery and facilitation of a range of Risk Assessments and Risk Management solutions in the energy, chemical, infrastructure including renewable sector with at least 6 years or more related experience

  • Ability to develop innovative and creative solutions for risk studies

  • Ability to work with and positively influence senior management and professional peers

  • Be able to work as part of a team but also independently with a focus on delivering results

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable as priorities and situations change

  • Capacity for strategic thinking

  • A strong desire to grow professionally and keep abreast of industry changes and practice

  • Have the ability to travel nationally and internationally

  • Eligible to work and live in Australia (Sherpa is not undertaking sponsorships for this role at this time)
