Stuart Chia is a chemical and environmental engineer with over 17 years' experience in the risk management, process safety and environmental engineering field. His experience ranges across a number of industries, including oil & gas, chemical, infrastructure and mineral processing. Stuart has spent time seconded into Asia and the UK as an HSE specialist on offshore and onshore oil & gas developments and has vast experience in preparing Safety Studies conducted in Australia. Stuart previously worked for Halliburton, Kellogg Brown & Root, Granherne and two other consultancies.
Giles Peach Principal Engineer, Director BEng, CEng, MIMechE
Giles Peach is a chartered Mechanical Engineer with 22 years' experience in the offshore oil and gas, petrochemical and process industry. The last 16 years have been in the specialist area of safety engineering & risk management. He started his career in 1986 with UK Mobil before moving to Chevron and BP on their North Sea installations. He has also worked for Halliburton, Kellogg Brown & Root and three engineering consultancies in a variety of roles. These have included periods based on refineries, offshore facilities, and site work in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
Jenny Polich Principal Engineer MEnvEng, BE(ChemEng)(Hons)
Jenny Polich is a chemical and environmental engineer with over 17 years' practical experience in the industry. She specialises in risk management with a specific focus on technical safety, environmental and operational risk. Her career has included the provision of consulting services in risk management to a variety of clients in the upstream oil & gas, downstream refining and specialty chemical industries. Jenny has been employed by Kellogg Brown & Root as well as Orica Australia and BOC Gases in a variety of roles.
Phil Johnson Principal Engineer MSc(Eng), BEng(Hons)
Philip has over 13 years' experience in safety and risk management, having carried out numerous studies in many industries. He has worked in the Asia Pacific region on projects in the power, petrochemical, rail and construction industries. He has also conducted projects for government departments, including regulatory impact assessments and specialist risk assessments. He is an experienced practitioner of many risk and reliability assessment techniques including HAZOP, HAZID, Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, Bow Tie Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Ivica Ninic Senior Engineer BE(ChemEng)(Hons)
Ivica Ninic is a chemical engineer with over eight years' experience, and is a senior safety and risk engineer with particular experience in process safety and risk engineering. His previous employment was with Granherne and Kellogg Brown & Root. He has been seconded as HSE Engineer to a major LNG project and has focused on executing risk assessments for major International Oil Companies (Shell, BP). Ivica is a specialist in quantitative risk assessments and safety based design assessments.
Elaine Johnson Senior Engineer PhD, BE(ChemEng)(Hons), BSc(Chem)
Elaine Johnson has a doctorate in chemical engineering and more than 10 years' experience in safety, risk and reliability engineering. She has been involved in numerous safety and reliability projects in the Asia Pacific region. She is experienced in conducting hazard analyses, Quantitative Risk Assessments, consequence analyses and Safety Integrity Level classification. In addition, she has undertaken many reliability and availability analyses. Elaine is a certified auditor in RABQSA-AU Management Systems Auditing.
Ossy Alim Safety Engineer BE(Ind Chem)(Hons) Ossy Alim is a Chemical Engineer with experience on several projects in membrane technology for CRC-P, including the development of isoporous membranes for industrial purposes. He joined Sherpa Consulting in early 2008, and is training as a risk and safety analyst. He also assists senior engineers with risk assessment studies for the upstream and downstream sector.
Hélène de Vries Office Coordinator MSc(International History), Diploma in World Politics, BA
Hélène has spent almost 10 years in the food industry, specifically for Nestlé, in various sales and marketing management roles. She has worked in France, UK, Hong Kong and Australia, in project management roles liaising with factory technical teams, logistics and sales, to advertising and media agencies as well as major retailers. Hélène joined Sherpa Consulting in February 2008, and provides strategic management support. She is a certified auditor in RABQSA-AU Management Systems Auditing.
Belinda Whitfield Senior Engineer BE(ChemEng)(Hons)
Belinda Whitfield is a chemical engineer with over seven years' experience in the process safety field. Her site experience includes employment at Renison Tin in Tasmania, in the processing plant. She was also employed by Granherne and Kellogg Brown & Root in the safety engineering and risk management groups. She is a trained ISO9001 internal quality auditor and is the QA Coordinator for Sherpa.
Katie Brookes Engineer BE(Chem)
Katie Brookes provides support while completing her Masters by Research at Monash University. The purpose of Katie's thesis is to develop a policy framework for the adoption of water sensitive urban design (WSUD) by the private sector.
